Online Classes: A Boon or Bane Survey among Health Care Students, In Mamata Educational Institute, Khammam, Telangana. - A Cross-Sectional Study

ABSTRACT

Background: Online class is a form of distance education; these became popular during the pandemic because of cancellation of lectures, postings, etc. Online classes have become an essential part of student life.

Methods: This is a cross-sectional study.  A total of 100 undergraduate students were included in this study consisted of 75% females and 25% males participants. A questionnaire was given to students to collect the required information and the data obtained was statistically analyzed. This study highlights are the attitude of undergraduate students regarding online classes and their effectiveness.

Results: The majority 46 % of students say that online classes were helpful during the pandemic, 29% of students say that they may be depending on lecture, 25% of students say they were not helpful. The majority 76% of students say preferred offline classes to online classes, 15% of students say both online and offline classes were equally effective, and the rest 9% students said online classes were effective.

Conclusion: Based on the results of the study we concluded that students preferred offline classes to online classes. If a proper plan is followed and by the inclusion of assignments, by increasing the student participation during the online lecture, there will be increased acceptance of online classes among students.
