Opinion Prediction for NEP-2020 Based on Real Time Twitter Data

ABSTRACT

Every nation needs a clear, forward-looking education policy since education is the primary force of social and economic advancement. India also has a national education policy that has rules, principles and policy decisions that helps in the implication of the education system. The National Education Policy was introduced in 1986 and later revised in 1992. The 34-year-old National Education Policy (NEP) is replaced by the NEP 2020. Although NEP 2020 has very promising aspects, but people may have different opinions about this new education policy. Actual outcome can only be observed after real implication. This paper tries to predict people's opinion regarding national education policy based on real time twitter data for keyword “NEP 2020”, extracted by using Twitter API. R Studio tool is used for extracting tweets and opinion prediction of these tweets. The results show that most of the tweets are neutral or positive. This reflects the positive orientation of people regarding national education policy.
