A witness is someone who is not a party to the dispute but knows something about the transaction in question. According to Manu, an individual becomes a witness either because he has seen or heard something. A witness is someone who gives evidence in front of a judge. Witnesses are used in quasi-judicial tribunals and other forums to provide evidence. When dealing with witnesses as a source of testimony, there are three important considerations to keep in mind:
