ABSTRACT

Orodispersible tablets are a modern and easy drug delivery device. A recent success in innovative drug delivery systems focused on the development of easy-to-manufacture and -administer dosage forms with increased bioavailability. Dysphasia affects people of all ages, but the elderly and young are the most. The development of a proper dosage type for senior individuals is becoming increasingly important.A new ODT was studied in this paper as a user-friendly dosing technique for both geriatric patients and newborns. Advancements in this technology are primarily aimed at increasing the disintegration efficiency of these fragile dosage forms while maintaining their integrity. This article focuses on the proprietary technologies that are available and the progress that has been made so far in the field of ODT fabrication. Aside from traditional formulation approaches, this analysis also covers certain novel technologies, such as freeze drying, direct compression, spray drying, tablet molding, sublimation, Cotton candy process with quick dissolving films, as well as their benefits and drawbacks. Various ODT technologies have been developed, including proprietary technologies such as Wowtab, Durasolv, Orasolv, Flashtab, Zydis, Frosta technology, Sheaform, Ceaform technology, Nanocrystal technology which have grown in importance on the global market and evaluation methods and future prospect.
