Performance Analysis of Distance Relay Using Matlab

ABSTRACT

In this paper, the Performance of Distance Relay is analyzed using MATLAB simulation and GUI. The objective of Distance Relay is to protect the Transmission lines. The type of Distance relay i.e. Mho Relay is used for obtaining the results. The proposed approach employs a block diagram of Distance relay and the effect of the faults on the current and voltage waveforms. By observing the results one can assess the performance understand the working of the Relay practically and zones up to which the Relay works is evident by the characteristics of the Mho Relay figure obtained GUI interface.
