Performance Management System: A Comprehensive Review of Challenges of Performance Management System in Indian Organization

ABSTRACT In companies across India, the performance management system is crucial for evaluating and enhancing employee productivity, aligning personal objectives with organizational aims, and promoting a culture of ongoing improvement. Nonetheless, various problems related to the execution and effectiveness of performance management practices have emerged, necessitating significant modifications to the system. This abstract outline the challenges faced and the changes implemented in the performance management system within Indian firms. To begin with, traditional performance management systems in Indian organizations often relied on periodic assessments, which limited the opportunity for immediate feedback and resulted in delayed recognition of employee accomplishments. Additionally, the cultural context in India poses challenges for performance management. Factors such as hierarchical structures
