ABSTRACT Seasonal food Artocarpus lakoocha, known as "poor man's food" in Southeast Asia, is very nutritious. The fruits are said to contain a variety of secondary metabolites, including phenols, flavonoids, tannins, saponins, steroids, and alkaloids. The edible fruits and seeds are extremely nutritious since they also include carbohydrates, proteins, and minerals. According to studies, this plant possesses a range of biological and therapeutic qualities, including antibacterial, antiviral, insecticidal, and antifungal effects. Flavonoids and phenolic chemicals, which are found in abundance in Artocarpus lakoocha, are powerful antioxidants. This tree's heartwood extract, fruit pulp, and bark all exhibit potent antioxidant effects. The fruit is often eaten fresh, has a sweet-sour flavor, and is extremely nutritious.
