ABSTRACT Senna Surattensisis a plant from Family Caesalpiniaceae and it is having been widely used traditionally for treating diabetes, gonorrhea, and blennorrhagia. Furthermore, it was traditionally used for its central depressant, diuretic, antimalarial, and purgative effects. Different extracts of Cassia glauca were previously evaluated for several pharmacological activities. . The use of phytochemicals is gaining interest for the treatment of metabolic syndromes over the synthetic formulation of drugs. Senna Surattensis is evolving as one of the important plants which have been vastly studied for its beneficial effects. Various parts of Senna Surattensis including the root, stem, leaves, and flower are found rich in numerous phytochemicals. In vitro, in vivo, and clinical experiments established that extracts from Senna Surattensis have diverse beneficial effects by acting as a strong antioxidant, anitbacterial, Antibiotics, Antifungal, Anti-diabetics Hepatotoxicity, and Cytotoxic activity potentials. Hence, an attempt is made to present a review on the phytochemical and biological studies of Senna Surattensis that remain a potential source for new natural pharmacologically active components.
