Author Name : Dr. Kajal Sharma, Dr. Archana Nagpal, Dr. Mamata Mahajan, Dr. Akash Sikka, Dr. Ayushi Singla

ABSTRACT Precision attachments are a key advancement in prosthodontics, offering a superior solution for the rehabilitation of partially edentulous arches. This case report details the treatment of a 62-year-old male patient presenting with mandibular bilateral distal extension Kennedy’s Class I condition and complete edentulism in the maxillary arch. The treatment involved the fabrication of a cast partial denture retained with an extra coronal castable ball precision attachment for the mandibular arch, alongside a complete denture for the maxillary arch. The procedure followed standard abutment selection and prosthetic techniques, including the fabrication of a porcelain-fused-to-metal bridge for the anterior mandibular teeth with male precision attachments. Precision attachments offer significant advantages over clasp-retained dentures, including improved aesthetics, enhanced comfort, and better speech clarity. They also prevent caries and bone resorption by eliminating clasping forces on the abutment teeth and promoting better load distribution. Furthermore, precision attachments allow for normal heat and taste perception, increasing overall patient satisfaction. Following established techniques by Jain D et al. and Burns and Ward, the case demonstrated excellent outcomes in retention, stability, and aesthetics. The patient expressed high satisfaction, confirming that precision attachments provide an effective, functional, and long-lasting solution for partial edentulism
