ABSTRACT Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) children experience difficulties related to communication, social interaction, stereotypical behaviour and feeding. The prevalence of feeding difficulties is almost 90% in children with ASD. Many studies are targeting on the treatment of feeding problems, assessment of feeding disorders, interventions for food refusal, eating behaviors etc. but there is limited evidence found regarding the prevalence of causative factor of feeding disorder in children with ASD. ASD children ages between 6 months to 7 years, having feeding issues were taken for the study. Cross sectional research design was adopted for the study. PediEAT was used as an outcome measure, which is having four causative factors for feeding issues such as physiologic symptoms, problematic mealtime behaviors, selective/restrictive eating and oral processing. After the descriptive statistical analysis the result of the study concluded that the causative factor for feeding problem in children with ASD may be selective/restrictive eating 35.20 (±11.6) with 39.10% of subjects affected when compared with physiologic symptoms, problematic mealtime behaviors and oral processing. In this presents study the other three factors were comparatively less responsible for feeding problem in children with ASD
