Quality Assurance Control and Academic Excellence of Colleges of Education in Lagos State

ABSTRACT

This study was conducted to examine the quality assurance control and academic excellence of Colleges of Education. Data were collected from one hundred and fifty respondents in Adeniran Ogunsanya College of Education. Descriptive statistics and chi-square analyses were used for the analyses of data. The study revealed that the constraints encountered in achieving quality assurance are inadequate funding, inadequate facilities, improper monitoring and supervision, inadequate quality of personnel and punctuality. Based on this, the study recommends that quality in the education system should therefore focus on optimal development of skills, knowledge, values, attitudes, morals and capabilities of the recipients with emphasis on those relevant to the individual and the Nigeria society.
