Research Paper on Strength Characteristics of Bentonite-Lime-Gypsum Mix Reinforced with Coir Fibers

ABSTRACT  The strength characteristics of bentonite-lime-gypsum mix reinforced with natural fibre like coir for possible ground improvement and other civil engineering applications is examined in this paper through a comprehensive laboratory study. The research programme included (a) a study of the compaction studies, unconfined compressive strength and unconsolidated undrained triaxial tests of bentonite modified with lime and gypsum, (b) a study of the compaction studies, unconfined compressive strength and unconsolidated undrained triaxial tests of bentonite-lime-gypsum reinforced with coir fibers, (c) SEM-EDAX studies of the bentonite-lime-gypsum mixes with the curing period for their mineralogical and morphological studies
