Research Study on Urban Waste Water Reuse at Lucknow

ABSTRACT
Reuse of urban waste water in lucknow at the current time said to be 20 % to 30 % as per data given by govt authorities and as well as monitoring authorities. Lucknow has population of approx 30.1 lakhs as per censes 2011. Total waste water generation 784 MLD and treatment capacity is available for this water is only 445 MLD but for reuse of this water is not fit with the reuse application limit set by CPCB and state agency this treated urban waste water can be used for only irrigation, agriculture, firefighting, washing etc. to achieved 100% reuse of this water we have to first increased the capacity of treatment plant. The geographical location of Lucknow is between 26.8467° N and 80.9462° E. Lucknow is located at an elevation of 123 m above sea level. It is surrounded on the eastern side by Barabanki district, on the western side by Unnao, on northern side by Sitapur and on southern side by Raebareli. The study are cover the municipal corporation boundary limit.This Research has framed guidelines for treatment of waste water and its optimal reuse so that every drop of water is utilized in an effective and safe manner. This policy also reckons the standards, regulations and quality assurance by legislation arrangement and emphasizes on public awareness, human resource development and research by establishingState Water and Waste Water Training Canter.
