Retrofitting of Existing Building using Etabs Software

ABSTRACT
The Study is carried out to analyze the Seismic analysis Retrofitting of Existing Buildings using Etabs software. Seismic performance is carried out on G+7 Storied RC Residential Apartment using different retrofitting techniques. They are 1. Carbon fiber reinforced polymer CFRP Jacketing 2. Rebar Jacketing 3. Steel Jacketing. Conventional RC Model and retrofitting Models are developed in Etabs Software. Dynamic Performance of each model is carried out using Response spectrum method and Time History analysis method with codal provisions of IS 1893:2016(Part 1) for Response Spectrum method. Seismic parameters i.e., Story Displacement, story drift, Base shear and time period are determined for each model in seismic Zone-II, Zone-III,Zone-IV and Zone-V. Obtained results of seismic parameters are discussed and compared with different retrofitted models. From the analysis it is observed that the CFRP model will produce the best outcomes. In comparison to the conventional model, it tends to delay the time period and significantly increase the lateral displacement and story drift in both the X and Y directions. Only ZONE-II is appropriate for the model with CFRP jacketing; all other zones (H/400) exceed the allowable limits
