Review of Prophylactic Norepinephrine and Phenylephrine's Comparative Effectiveness and Safety in Spinal Anaesthesia for Caesarean Sections

ABSTRACT The primary medication used during caesarean deliveries to keep blood pressure stable is phenylephrine. However, it increases the risk of bradycardia and heart activity depression in expectant women. As a result, norepinephrine has grown in popularity as an alternative to phenylephrine in recent years because it is believed that using vasopressors as a preventative measure may lower the incidence of hypotension following spinal anaesthesia. This study compared the effectiveness of the two interventions.
