Review on Glycemic Response and Anti-Diabetic Effect of Psyllium Husk Supplementation

ABSTRACT
Diabetes is an non communicable disease where most of the population is been affected . Which has an hereditary connect most of the Indian population is been suffering from type 2 diabetes mellitus . Thus many are in search of proper diet that will treat and act as an anti diabetic effect , There certain food they act as an anti diabetic which include bitter gourd , garlic , fenugreek seed and also fiber rich foods such as psyllium which plays an important role for treatment of type 2 diabetes and also for constipation it consist of several health benefits thus psyllium can be taken either in form of cookie or mixed with 250+50 ml of water . Psyllium, similarly, to other soluble fibres, passes through the small intestine without being completely broken down or absorbed. Instead, it absorbs water and becomes a viscous compound that benefits constipation, diarrhoea, blood sugar, blood pressure, cholesterol and weight loss. The anti-diabetic effect of psyllium in type 2 diabetes mellitus will be reviewed in this study.
