Role of Gorkhas of Assam in National Movement of India

ABSTRACT

The Indian National Movement was the most extensive and long lasted movement in modern Indian history. The Movement was widespread across the country and affected every section of people. People of all sections, regions, and castes of the country were vigorously supported as well as participated in this movement to overthrow the vicious rule of the British. The Indian Gorkhas which also known as Indian Nepalese were also actively contributed to this movement and many Gorkha sons were also given their blood and sweat. Therefore, this study is an attempt to know about scarifies and contributions of brave Gorkhas of Assam to the National Movement of the country.
