Role of Karnataka State Financial Corporation in Industrialisation of Karnataka State: A Comparative Study

ABSTRACT

Karnataka State Financial Corporation is one of the leading financial supportive institutions in the state. It assists small and medium enterprises by financing short term as well as long term investments. The present study is focused on financial contribution by KSFC to Micro & Small Scale Industries towards backward districts and other districts of the state. The data is analyzed and compares on the basis of amount of sanctions and disbursements between one backward district and one other district of the state. The study reveals that KSFC is failed to achieve its one of objectives of regional development. It provides more financial assistance to other districts and less to backward districts even though some districts are approximately same in population size and geographical area. The rate of sanctions to disbursements of backward district is more than other district.
