Role of Parenting Styles on Development of Authentic leaders: A New Research Direction

ABSTRACT

This paper studies the relationship betweenParenting style and Authentic leadership among professionals working in Private sectors. It has been a known fact that parenting plays crucial role in all domains be it personal or professional life. It sets the foundation of personality and one’s ability to take up challenges.The very idea has intrigued many researchersregarding the role of parenting on the leadership style we acquire later in our life. With that aim the research was conducted on a sample of118 employees comprising of 59 females and 59 males. High correlation was established between one style of parenting that isStrictparenting andAuthentic leadership.
