Role of Raktamokshan in Eye Diseases

ABSTRACT Present days, eye diseases are very uncontrolled because of unhygienic and unhealthy practice, environmental factors and lifestyle changes. To rule out this there is very limited number of medicines which provides only symptomatic relief and not the total cure. In Indian system of medicine Acharya Sushruta described various types of surgicals and para surgicals procedure in different diseases. Acharya sushrut is known as father of surgery. The parasurgical procedure are bheshaj karma (medicine), kshar karma (chemical cautery), Agni karma (heat cautery), and raktamokshan (bloodletting )etc. This procedure plays important role in special diseases for iradication of diseases. In present day, cautery, bloodletting are very much effective for diseases.
