Scope of Agadtantra (Ayurvedic Toxicology) in Environmental Water Pollution W.S.R to Janpadodhvansa: A Review

Ayurveda mainly is an ancient science which helps to promote the healthy life of the human being. It also helps to an individual to maintain the healthy life. In Ayurveda various treatment are provided for the treatment of the diseases. In todays day to day life environmental pollution is major problem. When continuous deposition of pollutants in the natural element of the earth occurs, pollution is created. This issue of environmental pollution should be taken very seriously as it harms the natural elements such as water, air, land which are responsible for life on earth. The presence of these pollutants in the undesirable quantity harms the animals and also human beings and plants which could not survive in the environmental pollution consist of mainly air, water and soil pollution.
As per Ashtang Ayurveda, Agadtantra is mentioned as 6th Branch of Ayurveda which deals with the poison i.e. its identification, types of poison from mineral, plant and animal as well as artificial poison and its treatment. In various text and classical books, the concept of environmental pollution had been described. In Ayurveda Archayas had briefly described the environmental health in Dincharya, Rutucharya and Janapadodhvansa. The review article on environmental pollution is an primary approach to find out the solution through ancient science.
