ABSTRACT Short-form video content distributed through Instagram Reels and YouTube Shorts transformed the digital information consumption patterns of students. This study examines the way these short digital contents affect university students' learning behaviour especially concerning their active participation as well as their attention span and memory performance. The research data comes from surveys combined with focus group interviews that sampled students across different educational sectors. The findings indicate a dual effect: These platforms increase creative engagement and micro learning possibilities but simultaneously cause shortened attention spans alongside distractions. The research investigates future challenges for both educators and policymakers stemming from these educational phenomena.
