Significance of organic co-solvent Ethylene Glycol on Thermodynamic Parameters of hydrolysis of Benzyl Methanoate Catalysed by an acid

ABSTRACT

The study of organic hydrolysis of Benzyl methanoate was carried out in water EG (Ethylene Glycol) media in which the composition of the organic co-solvent was varying concentration from 30% to 80% (v/v) ranging from 293K to 313K. And it gives an idea about acidic hydrolysis of Benzyl methanoate ester with the help of enthalpy of activation H*, entropy of activation  S* and Gibbs free energy of activation G*.

The cause for decline in the values of Specific rate constants, the small increase in G* Values and regular decrease in the values of H* and S* have been mentioned below.
