Single Phase Grid-Connected PV System with Unfolding Flyback Microinverter for Residential Applications
Author Name : Aman Singh, Mr Abhishek Agwekar
ABSTRACT The rapid adoption of renewable energy systems has elevated the role of photovoltaic (PV) technology, particularly in residential applications. Among various inverter topologies, the unfolding flyback microinverter stands out as an efficient and cost-effective solution for single-phase grid-connected PV systems. This paper reviews the design, operation, and performance of single-phase grid-connected PV systems using unfolding flyback microinverters, with a focus on their suitability for residential applications. The unfolding flyback topology combines the advantages of compact design, simplicity, and cost-effectiveness, making it ideal for small-scale energy systems. The study examines the core components, including the flyback converter for DCAC conversion and the unfolding bridge for grid synchronization, ensuring minimal distortion and high efficiency. Additionally, this review addresses the critical aspects of maximum power point tracking (MPPT), power quality, harmonic mitigation, thermal management, and compliance with grid standards.
