Smart Dustbin Parameter Monitoring for Efficient Routing of Garbage Collection Vehicle

ABSTRACT

The revolution in communication and drastic computer application are the consequences of advancement in the Internet and this revolution is being a helping hand in forming a smart city. But still it has been investigated that efficient waste management is still missing in state-of-the-art research on smart city applications. Our Waste Management System is lacking of a System which is capable of informing to the officials that whether the bins are full or not. There the need arises of Smart Waste Management (SWM) System intended to be developed to overcome the garbage collection issues in smart city. The Present Waste Management System which is under implementation have some major drawbacks such as daily collection of waste from bins even when the bins are not full, on special days like holidays, festivals the bins are filled at a faster rate and needs to be collected accordingly which is not fulfilled etc. Taking these drawbacks under consideration we have come up with an idea to develop a Smart Waste Management (SWM) System which will monitor the garbage level in the dustbin and not only provide on-time garbage collection but will also minimize the cost of collection.
