Smart Dustbin Using Automatic Solar Tracker

ABSTRACT

At present day, India population tremendously increasing at high rate. And this will lead the increase in production of waste. The key issue involved in waste management is to maintain hygienic environment and collection of waste within time, without overflowing dustbin. In this proposed we have designed a smart dustbin using Arduino UNO along with solar panel, Ultrasonic & IR sensor, servo motor, battery, jumper wires and GSM modem.

After all connections, programme will run with help of Arduino IDE. The system will able to generate energy on its own using automatic solar-tracker. Dustbin lid will open when user comes near at some range, then wait for user to put garbage and lid will close when nobody in front of it. The main aim of this system is to reduce human resources and efforts along with the enhancement of a smart city vision. The proverb “Cleanliness is next to god and clean city is next to heaven” inspired us to conceptualized the project.
