Social Distance Monitoring and Violation Alert System in Public Places

ABSTRACT

The novel coronavirus COVID-19 became the life threatening factor to the common people all over the world. In order to reduce the spreading of this coronavirus pandemic, the common people are advised to practice the social distancing in order to break the contagious chain among the gathering of people in public places. The proposed system is to ensure the safety of the common people by monitoring the social distancing and to raise an alarm on the event of violation of the rule. To reach out the people of all economic levels the proposed system was framed in two ways one based on the smart assisted monitoring and the other is based on the Arduino based system. The model proposed is cost effective and the accuracy of the system is up to the mark. The data collected about the identity and the location of the users are stored in the cloud server for the manipulation of distance between any two users in the near. The threshold of 5m radius is used for each and every user as a personal space, if any other enters into this region it was treated as violation of standard of procedure.by vicinity. Apart from the monitoring and alert message on violation, the system ensures the privacy of data. The proposed model can be implemented in the public places where the rule of social distancing cannot be monitored manually.
