Solar based High-gain DC-DC Converter with MPPT

ABSTRACT
Solar energy is renewable, pollution less, easily available nature friendly energy source which is present throughout whole year. The light energy from the sun rays converted to electrical energy by solar PV cells. The amount of energy conversion depends upon the irradiance & temperature. Boost converters mainly used to regulate the output voltage to a particular level. Boost converters lose their efficiency while working at a higher duty cycle & suffers from high voltage stress. A novel transformer-less High gain converter connected MPPT scheme is proposed in the paper which can easily generate output from the solar PV in low irradiance conditions operating at a low duty cycle. P&O MPPT algorithm is used to extract the maximum power from solar arrays.
