South Korean Soft Power Propagation to India
Author Name : Dr. Aloka Dutta
ABSTRACT
After the end of the Cold War, international relations shifted from a hard to a soft power model. Constructionists helped to popularise the notions lil: culture, ideology, and the like. It was also a result of the increasing global economic interdependence that soft power came to be. Soft power has been there since 1990, but in recent years, both old civilizations and modern Asian powers have been heavily influenced via this concept because they see it as a way to increase their power and influence in the regional and global arenas," says Nye.[1] Korea, one of Asia's rising soft power giants, will be the focus of this paper's examination of the idea of soft power.
Joseph Nye, who devised the term soft power, said that governments can only develop soft power in situations where their cultures and ideas are comparable rather than vastly different from each other. This study, on the other hand, will focus on the recent rise of Korean soft power in India. The report examines the Korean concept of soft power and their current tactics for promoting soft power around the world. This article also examines South Korea's foreign policy in relation to India.
