INTRODUCTION Humans have always been fascinated by the colours in the nature which gave rise to the invention dyes and pigments. There are many dyes and pigments available in whichever hue, intensity and value of colour anyone wants. Changing lifestyle and fashion trends have always came up with innovative ideas of textile materials. Textile materials are all available in many colours from solid colours in visible spectrum to glow up neon. But humans want more, there are now material that are colour changing. Materials that are photochromic which changes colour when exposed to light (Ashrit, 2017), thermochromic which changes colour when exposed to heat(Thermochomicmaterial, 2017) electrochromic which changes when placed in electric field(Electrochromic, Dictionary.com) and Chromorphouswhich is done by use of smartphone application which not only changes colour but also patterns (ChroMorphous.com).But all these materials are possible either with the finishes or are e-textiles. Stretch on colour changing textile material is a gem in textile engineering, this fabric changes colour not because of any finish or electronic technology but is built in a unique layering process because of which it shows off different colours when stretched.
