Study of Functional Chatbot Based on BBCR Repertory for Homeopathy Practitioners and Patients

ABSTRACT Healthcare Industry has always been a major contributor to the world GDP and till date remains one of the fastest growing industry. We have witnessed this recently during the COVID 19 pandemic. The rapid advancement in the field of information technology over the last decade has now opened up huge opportunities for IT based solutions in the healthcare Industry. This is helping greatly to reduce the workload on practitioners/Physicians and is also resulting in improved efficiency and accuracy. Chatbot is one of such highly effective IT tool. They can be used for assessing the symptoms and clinical history of the patient and thus can be used by Physicians for their diagnosis and accurate medical treatment. However Chatbots have not been used to their full potential in homeopathy practice as compared to allopathy. This is also evident from the fact that many IT firms are offering various solutions to the allopathy medicine practioners. This survey paper proposes a functional Chatbot, which can act as an assistant to the homeopathy practioners by helping in providing prescriptions to patient by analyzing patient’s illness based on symptoms, mapping those symptoms to rubrics of the BBCR repertory and finally showing the list of top 5 medicines based on ranking mechanism from the repertory. The chatbot will be built using HTML and CSS as frontend and Python as Backend. It would be based on the Django framework of Python to host the application
