Study of Human Values among Undergraduate Students in Uttarakhand (With Special Reference to Udham Singh Nagar)

ABSTRACT
Every human being is gifted with the rationale capacity which has developed the sense of value. This has made the human life worthy to be lived. In human beings, the values occupy a significant place. These human values help for a organized life in society. It is important to note though human beings are endowed with the rational capacity but the values are internalized from outside and these are acquired by birth.
In this paper ten types of personal values are studied among undergraduate students of Arts, Science and Commerce groups and the role of different study groups in development of personal values in students was found. This study has been conducted on 120 undergraduate students of different study groups. Findings of this study shows significant difference in religious, democratic, aesthetic, economic, knowledge, hedonistic, power, family prestige and health values among students of three groups.
