The Good Mentor: An Empirical Study on student’s Perception of Mentor Qualities

ABSTRACT

Academic mentoring is gaining wide acceptance today as it is instrumental in bringing about improvement in students’ academic, professional, and psychosocial development. This study is about the role of mentor in creating a positive mentoring experience for the mentee which in turn leads to good outcomes. As such, in our study we have focussed on what mentor behaviours are perceived to be of high value for the mentees. The secondary data for the literature review has been sourced from google scholar and the primary data is got by means of a questionnaire survey that was administered to graduate and undergraduate students in management discipline.A structured questionnaire was used to obtain data on what student teachers perceived as qualities they would like their mentor teachers to possess
