The Perspective of Feminist in Kate Chopin's "The Awakening"

ABSTRACT
The paper focuses on women’s struggle for freedom in the novel The Awakening from feministic perspective. The protagonist of the novel is Edna who resists against patriarchal society occurs who in due course unable to confront the challenges commits suicide. The article traces the transformation of the character from being a traditional woman to an “emancipated woman”. This paper looks at Edna’s quest for her self-identity and her journey struggling against masculine dominance.
