The Rise of Crowdsourced Logistics: Unlocking Potential and Navigating Obstacles
Author Name : Dr. Princy A S, Haliza M, Leela V
ABSTRACT Crowdsourced logistics is seen as a disruptive innovation. It provides an alternative for companies who want to avoid the fact that traditional supply chain models rely on companies owning delivery trucks and they control what goes in their warehouses. Crowdsourced logistics, with thousands of independent drivers or delivery agents, creates a network of customers linked to those collectors if their close coordination so power covers more areas That is the so-called factory covering 60/center concept at work here. Empowering businesses through crowdsourcing, in this manner, is far more flexible than the traditional model of owning huge distribution centers all over the country. This model makes use of surplus capacity, shortens the time required in delivery and reduces costs. However, despite its potential, crowdsourced logistics faces a number of challenges, such as reliability, scalability and legal issues. The paper uses both literature review and data analysis and aims to explore the opportunities and challenges in the emerging field of crowdsourced logistics. We hope this will provide valuable inspiration for future research as well as practical tools to help with management supply chains
