To Convert the Solid Waste to High Calorific value fuel by the Process of Co-processing
Author Name : Shraddha Garg, Dr. Snehal Lokhandwala
ABSTRACT
Coupled with the resource conservation and reduced carbon emissions, Co-processing technology is a preferable alternative for sound and environment friendly waste disposal over Incinerators and non- scientific methods. It is the only solution to the waste disposal menance in addition n to this it reduces the burden on the secure landfills as well as TSDFs. Apart from using energy and material of wastes, Co-processing not only fixes the inorganic content of the waste in addition to this it completely destroys the waste due to high temperature and long residence time, avoiding need of further processing as in case of Incineration. This research refers to the Co-processing of the Industrial solid waste with different additives like saw dust , rice husk and baggage in different proportions to achieve a minimum Calorific value of 2500Kcal so as to make it useful as a fuel. The work intends to optimize the process of Co-processing and also developing a ready reckoner where in the amount of the additive can be decided just by knowing the calorific value of the industrial waste . Industrial waste from a different industry is taken for the experimental work and the final goals are to be achieve the Calorific value by adding one additive or a combination keeping in mind the overall cost of Co-processing. The resultant Co-processed material shall be of high calorific value and readily sealable solving both the problems of waste handling and also Incineration.
