To Evaluate Antipsychotic Activity of Herbal Plant Extract of Swertia Chirayita on Experimental Animal

ABSTRACT
Schizophrenia is a complex, chronic mental health disorder characterized by an array of symptoms, including delusions, hallucinations, disorganized speech or behavior, and impaired cognitive ability. Natural drugs have recently gained favour in the worldwide health drug as antipsychotic. Anaemia, bronchial asthma, hepatotoxic disorders, liver disorders, hepatitis, gastritis, constipation, dyspepsia, skin diseases, worms, epilepsy, ulcers, scanty urine, hypertension, melancholia, some types of mental disorders, bile secretion, blood purification, and diabetes are just a few of the many medical conditions that can be treated with these substances. To induce psychosis, Dexamethasone (10mg/kg) was utilised as an inducing medication. We found that giving 200 mg/kg and 400 mg/kg methanolic stem extract of S. Chirayita and standard drug Haloperidol (1 mg/kg) to respective groups of animals for 15 days significantly. Hence, it was concluded that our hypothes is was proventobetrue.
