ABSTRACT
Aim: To make a narrative review on to study the effectiveness of MFR popliteal muscles in knee osteoarthritis patient
Background: Osteoarthritis (OA) is a disease that causes a reduction in joint space and is a main cause of disability. The knee joint is commonly impacted in the human body, resulting in discomfort and physical deficit. It is a chronic degenerative disease characterized by pain, tenderness, crepitus, restriction of joint range of motion, effusion may be present on occasion, and the signature of inflammation may be variable. It primarily affects the articular cartilage, but it can also affect the subchondral bone, capsule, synovial membrane, ligaments, and muscles. It is more common in older people. Knee osteoarthritis affects 40% of adults over the age of 70, while hip osteoarthritis affects 10% of the population. MFR focuses on relieving pain by releasing tension in the trigger points, which is extremely challenging.
Search Methods: Search engines such as Cochrane Library, Medline, PUB Med, and Web of Science, Scopus, were used to conduct reviews, and only Publications and Science journals were included in this study.
Conclusion - Popliteus Release in Knee Pain may be useful as a treatment for those suffering from Knee OA-related problems such as pain, daily function, and QOL
