Unravelling The Dimensions Of Shwasa Roga – A Review Article

ABSTRACT

Ayurveda upheld the systematic understanding of a disease and its path taken in the body. The treatment approach should be focussed and planned considering the samprapthi i.e, ‘Sampraptianuroopa chikitsa’ - treatment in accordance with the samprapthi, so that the disease is curbed from its root. Shwasa is a fast-progressing disease and the treatment should be given at the earliest. Appropriate treatment needs precise understanding of the disease. Hence the physiological aspects of Shwasa prakriya, Shwasa as roga, the involvement of Dosha, Srotas, concept of Amashyasamudbhavam, Shwasa as lakshana, Upadrava and Arishta are described along with the examination aspects. Thus, vivid understanding of shwasa is dealt in view of ceasing it from further progression.
