Urbanization and Migration Trends in India

ABSTRACT
The urbanization in India is mainly due to the Expansion of cities and the migration of people, investors are made in housing road network, urban transport, water supply , power –related infrastructures, smart cities and other forms of urban management, the natural population increase and rural to urban migration and the two causes of urbanization, urbanization affects all sizes of settlements from villages to towns from towns to cities, leading up to the growth of mega –cities which have more than ten million people, North America is the most urbanization region, with 82 percent of its population residing in urban Africa reaming mostly rural with 43 percent of its population living in urban Ares in 2018, the population residing in urban areas in India, with 17.5 percent , increased to 8.53 percent by 2011 censes. Now it has increased to 34 percent in 2017. According to the World Bank, Mumbai Occupies first place in rural –urban migration in the 20 the century. Delhi Witnessed to faster rate of urbanization in the world, with 4.1 percent rise in population as per the 2011 censes. The present paper tries to investigate the relevant determinates of rural to urban migration in large – agglomerations cities in India, the employment and unemployment situation on the level of population poverty, inequality conditions, Infrastructure, economic condition and also suggest better infrastructural facilities along with higher job opportunities to encourage urbanization through rural- urban migration for higher and sustainable economic growth in India.
