ABSRTRACT
The introduction of forensic techniques has undeniably helped the investigation process but the techniques like polygraph (lie detection technique) have raised serious objections as a violation of fundamental rights of privacy and protection against self- incrimination. The question of validity regarding the use of these tests and techniques was exhaustively been dealt by the Supreme Court of India. The focus is on analysing the Supreme Court’s decision regarding the lie-detection tests while dealing with the blind spots of the judgment, problems that are faced while conducting the tests, the extent of usage of these test results, the effect of the judgment on the Indian laws etc.
