Women in Crime: A Considerable Issue

ABSTRACT In criminology there is a notion that male commit more crime than female or crime is a male domain. If we see the earlier theories on criminality, most of the theories aremale centric and based on the notion that crime is only for male. Like other differences between male and female there are differences in criminological field also and these differences between male and female are arising due to the factors like industrialization, urbanization and modernization etc. Because of the factors society are passing through many drastic changes and these changes are now visible in the area of criminality also. Traditionally women, whose role was confined only to the domestic sector has switched over to private job sector. This change is not occurred only the professional life but in every sector women started equally participating like her male counterpart.Due to family disorganization, stress, domestic quarrels, frustration and high aspiration led to stress and fear among women which can lead to indulging in criminal activities. This abstract examines the changing trends of crime among the womenin modern world
