Association of Various Demographic Variables on Self Esteem of Adolescents in Selected Higher Secondary Schools, Kashmir

ABSTRACT

Self-esteem has been found to be the major aspect in building the personality of Individuals. Adolescence is the stage when the self-esteem may head towards positive or negative directions and there are various factors which may have impact on self-esteem. The result of the association indicates that there was statistically significant association between self -esteem of subjects with gender (p=0.001) while as no association was found with other demographic variables  such as age, qualification of parents , total monthly income of family, type of family residence of study subjects.
