Space Robotics for Future Applications

Author Name : Shreya Mane

ABSTRACT

In this work, we provide the findings of a NASA survey that was designed to assess the current status of space robotics and forecast future robotic capabilities under either nominal or intense development efforts. The space robotics assessment study looked at both planetary surface operations like mobility and exploration as well as in-space operations like assembly, inspection, and maintenance. For space missions and expeditions, the intriguing discipline of space robotics was created. The extent to which humans may participate in space exploration is constrained by their physical stamina. Human engagement is limited by the length of flights and missions and the harsh environment in space. This essay examines the many kinds of space-based robots, their key design elements, and potential uses. Space manipulators and space robots are reviewed briefly and addressed.Future robotic and crewed space missions will benefit greatly from space robotics, which also offers prospects for knowledge and technology transfer to a variety of terrestrial sectors. Space robotics encourages current and future generations to explore and critically analyse Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics in a larger humanitarian perspective (STEM).
