ABSTRACT Manufacturing (AM), also known as 3D printing, has emerged as a transformative force in restorative and digital dentistry, offering a sophisticated alternative to traditional subtractive manufacturing. By moving away from traditional subtractive methods, modern dentistry now leverages additive manufacturing—a layer-by-layer fabrication technique directed by high-precision Computer-Aided Design (CAD). This digital workflow is fueled by sophisticated 3D imaging tools like intraoral scanners and Cone Beam Computed Tomography (CBCT), which allow for the production of intricate dental geometries that were once impossible to create.
