ABSTRACT

The current road network in the evolving Indian scenario has changed with four approaches: developing new road networks, upgrading existing networks, and building flyovers for access across major city sections. One of the most important factors for travellers, i. H. It is the speed of travel that affects road users and cost of road use (RUC), which ultimately affects fuel consumption and cost per unit. Given this scenario and the initiative taken by the Government of India to extend the highway corridors connecting major cities without intersections, such surveys are very important and relevant for toll valuation. This paper presents a four-lane national highway survey on velocity flow from the perspective of volume and point velocity analysis conducted on National Highway No. 2. Data were collected at six locations on either side of the highway and used to perform automatic velocity flow relationship matching using multivariate procedures. As a result, the highway. In addition, this method also provides a suitable fit for all data regimes, unlike many other single regime models that only fit data for free flow or forced flow conditions. Finally, this single regime model provides conforming quality consistent with most multi-regime models without having to deal with the complexity associated with selecting regime breakpoints.
