A Clinical Study to Evaluate the Efficacy of Shwitrahara Lepa in the Management of Shwitra W.S.R to Vitiligo

ABSTRACT In ayurveda all the skin diseases are categorised under the heading of kushtha. Shwitra is not mentioned in types of kushtha,it is separately explained in kushtha roga chikitsa in classics. The word meaning shwitra is Shweta varna1. In vitiligo there is a typical lesion which shows depigmentated patch without any change in skin texture2 Skin diseases are those which are visible and effect the individual psychosomatically. Incidence of vitiligo is 1 %. This disease becomes a social embarrassment and economic burden for the patient. There is no ideal treatment due to unclear etiopathogenesis.
