ABSTRACT The Indian airline market is served by both low-cost carriers (LCCs) and full-service carriers (FSCs), which offer passengers different value propositions. This study compares customer perception of the two models across price and value for money, service quality, comfort, reliability, staff behaviour, convenience, satisfaction and behavioural intention. It is a descriptive and comparative study based exclusively on secondary data: peer reviewed studies published between 2016 and 2026 were selected purposively and analysed through thematic content analysis and a comparative matrix. The reviewed evidence indicates that value for money is especially important to LCC passengers, whereas FSC passengers place greater weight on service quality and the in-flight experience.
