A Comprehensive Review of Tea Addiction with Homoeopathy

ABSTRACT Tea is a common yet underappreciated form of addiction because of the drinking central role of caffeine and other bioactive substances. This review describes the biochemical process that contributes to tea addiction, and its effects on physiology and psychology, in health and disease. Through the HOLISTIC lens, the article explains the biological aspects of addiction where neurotransmitters and hormones play a vital role along with its side effects towards metabolic, cardiovascular and digestive system. The topics explored include epidemiology of tea drinking in global populations and myths versus facts about tea addiction. In addition, this review draws attention to Homoeopathic therapeutics that may be useful in the management of tea intoxication, withdrawal symptoms, detoxification, and re establishment of biochemical homeostasis. Pharmacodynamics effects of Nux vomica, Coffea cruda, Thea chinensis, etc. are analysed as potential remedies. The paper ends with suggestions for alternative drinks and lifestyle changes as well as holistic methods to beat tea addiction.
