ABSTRACT Paracetamol is a widely prescribed analgesic as well as antipyretic medication that offers a vital chance to investigate active pharmaceutical ingredient (API) synthesis developments. This study highlights five synthetic routes for paracetamol, evaluating their yield, purity, reaction conditions, environmental impact as well as scalability. We show that comparing the following routes provides important benefits by using various methods. This study looks at the production of paracetamol from a future perspective, emphasizing innovative and sustainable methods. Continuous flow synthesis presents a challenge to traditional batch processes by providing better control, scalability, and safety. Using organocatalysis and enzymes provides higher selectivity, softer reaction conditions, and biodegradability potential. Microreactors also use less solvent and improve efficiency and mixing. This abstract emphasizes the possibility of new, environmentally friendly methods for the synthesis of paracetamol, guaranteeing its continuous availability and affordability.
